SPE Kuala Lumpur Section

History

The SPE Kuala Lumpur Section was established in 1981.

We have a strong member base of members coming from diverse backgrounds representing multiple oil and gas disciplines and beyond.

With a strong focus on networking, knowledge sharing, and education about the oil and gas and energy industry, we aim to bring together professionals from operating companies, service companies, vendors, and others from the full range of oil and gas services.

This website will serve as the focal point to provide our members and the public with news of upcoming meetings, seminars, workshops, programmes and activities. The website exists also as a digital archive and celebration of our events and history.

SECTION EXCELLENCE AWARD

Section Excellence Award is the second highest honor a section can receive. It recognizes up to the next 20 percent of eligible sections that have accomplished an admirable level of success. A certificate is emailed to all designated sections. SPE KL has received Section Excellence Award for 3 Years in a row since 2020.

Last year, I became a volunteer for the Energy4me session with SPE Kuala Lumpur Section at 9th SOGCE. This year, 10th SOGCE, I am joining NextGen Energy Leaders Program as an attendee. Outcomes of the session that I find worth sharing: 1) Try to adapt and accept digitalization, or you will be eliminated. 2) Leadership is a journey; treat it as something other than an exam. 3) Try to speak in the company language during the interview. 4) New energy will become a big part of our future.
